Our Program
Our organization was established in 2015 by a group that was able to see the correlation between the challenges faced by homeless individuals and the resources that are made available to them through private and publicly funded programs. The organization attempts tosteer displaced people from homelessness by providing safe and positive alternatives and resources.
With our comprehensive job training assistance, candidates will be able to utilize our computer lab for job searching, access the Internet, preparing their resume, copying and faxing it to businesses in which they are seeking employment and exploring careers and training options.
Through this program, The Maceo H Jones Foundation, Inc. provides a step by step guide to job preparation, job search assistance, time management and everything in between. Training can help the individual move up in today’s workforce to a well-paying, high-demand job. All of the workshops that we offer will be either on a one on one basis or in a group setting. We will help these individuals by providing them with hope in their time of need and refer them to outside services if needed.
The Maceo H. Jones Foundation, Inc. also provides the homeless, senior citizens, veterans and families with hot meals during the holiday seasons. Also, we provide Care Packages to the homeless or individuals in need. Our Care Packages consist of nonperishable food and hygiene items.
We would love to have a stockpile of Care Packages available to distribute as needed. We also honor Veterans on Veterans Day with Thank you packages. If you would like to contribute, please visit our donation page.
Food For Those In Need Program
Through our Food For Those In Need program, we have the potential to make real and positive change. This is one of our key areas of focus here at Maceo H. Jones Foundation, and a source of much success for our Non-Profit.
All human beings have a very basic need for food to sustain. Food gives the daily energy needed for functioning and survival. We reach out to provide meals to local shelters when needed, as well as provide meals to homeless individuals living on the streets. During the Holiday Season, we host an Annual Free Thanksgiving Dinner where all are welcome to come. as well as providing families with holiday food baskets.
Supplies For Homeless Shelters
We provide local shelters and anyone in need with the basic necessities such as bed sheets, pillows, socks and underwear, personal hygiene products and any other supplies that are needed, based on supply.
Care Packages
Our Care Packages are passed out to anyone in need. They contain snacks, travel-size toiletries, a bottle of water and season appropriate items; such as gloves and hats during the winter season. The Care Packages are very useful for individuals that live on the street. We try to have a surplus of Care Packages on hand to hand out whenever we encounter a person in need.
Annual Thanksgiving Dinner
For 36 years Maceo H. Jones hosted an annual Thanksgiving Dinner to feed Veterans, Senior Citizens, and Homeless individuals. In 2016, the Maceo H. Jones Foundation stepped in to assist with this annual dinner. This annual event consists of serving meals to individuals that are in homeless shelters, rehabilitation centers, senior citizen’s homes, veterans and anyone that comes in off the street.
